Optical Distribution Cabinet (ODC), the full name of "Optical Distribution Cabinet", is the core aggregation equipment used for optical cable handover, welding, distribution and scheduling in optical fiber communication networks. It is mainly responsible for the connection, management and protection of main and branch optical cables. It is a key hub between the "backbone layer" and the "access layer" of the communication network

1. Fiber capacity (number of cores)

Small and medium-sized: 48 cores, 96 cores, 144 cores (suitable for townships and small areas);

Medium and large: 288 cores, 576 cores, 1152 cores (suitable for urban backbones and large parks);

Ultra-large: 2160 cores, 3456 cores (very rarely used, only suitable for national backbone network hubs).

2, box structure and material

Material: Outdoor type is mainly SMC composite material (glass fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester), with anti-corrosion, anti-ultraviolet, waterproof (IP65 and above), high and low temperature resistance (-40 ℃~ + 60 ℃) characteristics; indoor type can choose cold-rolled steel plate (need to spray paint to prevent rust).

Structure: sub-floor type (bottom fixed on the ground, height 1.2~ 1.8m) and wall-mounted type (wall-mounted installation, height 1m, small capacity, 144 cores); internal division of welding area (put welding plate), wiring area (put adapter), storage area (coiled residual fiber), cable fixing area (fixed cable sheath).

3, interface type

Adapter interface: the mainstream is SC/APC (commonly used in radio and television, telecommunications, low return loss), SC/UPC (commonly used in data centers), some support LC, FC interface, need to match with the cable connector (such as pigtail, fiber jumping).

Optical cable entrance: support different diameters of optical cables in and out, usually equipped with cable fixed sealing device (such as rubber sealing ring), suitable for φ 8~ φ 30mm optical cable (the main cable is thicker, the branch cable is thinner).

4, environmental and protection parameters (outdoor applicability)

Protection level: outdoor type needs to reach IP65 (completely dustproof, low pressure water spray), some high standard products can reach IP66 (high pressure water spray); indoor type IP30 (dustproof, solid foreign body).

Temperature adaptation range: -40 ℃~ + 60 ℃ (to meet the extreme cold, high temperature areas), some special environmental products can be extended to -55 ℃~ + 70 ℃.

Impact and mechanical strength: The impact strength of the box is IK08 (can withstand 5J energy impact, such as external force collision), and the door lock has an anti-skid design (such as a triangular key lock).

Anti-corrosion and aging: Salt spray test 1000 hours (higher grade is required in coastal areas), UV aging test 2000 hours (outdoor long-term exposure does not crack).

5, functional parameters (management and operation convenience)

Number and specifications of welding plates: Each plate can weld 12-core or 24-core optical fibers. For example, 144-core optical delivery boxes are usually equipped with 6 24-core welding plates.

Scheduling capability: Support fiber hopping scheduling (connect different adapters through fiber hopping to adjust the link). Some high-end models have built-in optical splitter installation slots (optional 1:8, 1:16 optical splitters, integrated optical splitter function).

Identification and management: Internal label positions (such as fiber routing labels, port numbers) need to be reserved, and electronic label (RFID) management (intelligent optical cross box) is supported to facilitate link traceability.

Installation method: Floor type needs to be fixed with cement base, wall-mounted type needs to be fixed with expansion screws, and drain holes are reserved at the bottom (to prevent internal water accumulation).

6, Other parameters

Size: Floor type Common size (height, width and depth): 1400700300mm (144 core), 1800900450mm (288 core); Wall-mounted type: 800600200mm (96 core).

Weight: Empty box weight (excluding internal accessories): SMC material 144 core about 30kg, 288 core about 50kg; steel plate material slightly heavier 10%~ 20%.

7, the outdoor scene is preferred IP65 + SMC material + large capacity (such as 288 core), matching the backbone cable needs;

8, the community, the park can choose floor type + with optical splitter groove, taking into account the distribution and light splitting function;

9, remote areas need to strengthen low temperature resistance (-40 ℃ below) and anti-mouse design (with metal protective net
